Our Story

The Hawaii Rubber Emporium founder Evan began working in the marine sports industry over thirty years ago, at the age of 14. First as a deckhand, then full-share crew, on to dive instructor, captain, and finally general manager. Many knots were tied - spanning three oceans. 

Entering the spearfishing industry as an avid underwater hunter over ten years ago, he quickly rose through the ranks to become both Lead Knot-Tyer and Head Spear Seller for one of Hawaii's premier spearfishing equipment manufacturers. Working closely with shops and end-user divers for years, Evan realized there was a need for high-quality tied bands at each level of the industry, and the Hawaii Rubber Emporium was born. Our first batch of 2500lbs of rubber landed in 2025, and it's more than likely there is new rubber being produced for us or on the ocean as you're reading this. We're serious about rubber and if we're tying something for you - it is going to be tied right, by a professional, here in Hawaii.
